Maurach, on the eastern banks of the lake, is a beautiful place in an enviable geographic location.

The fascinating combination of the natural lake and the majestic mountains is perfect for winter lovers.

The magical lake appears even more impressive between white snow-capped slopes and the majestic peaks of the Rofan mountain range. This family-friendly ski area is very popular with skiers, carvers, and snowboarders. It is easy to reach thanks to the Rofan gondola, and the state-of-the-art sky glider, Airrofan, allows for amazing eagle-eyed views of the breathtaking landscape.

A holiday here is an unforgettable experience, because there is so much to do: cross-country skiing, winter hiking, snow shoeing, ice skating, romantic rides on horse carriages, walking tours in the winter wonderland, tobogganing evenings, and much more. And families love it here, because the small children may try their first turns on the skis right in the center of the village.

Don't miss out on Notburga Pilgrimage Church!

St. Notburga is the patroness of servants and peasants.
She was cook in the family of Count Henry of Rothenburg, and used to give food to the poor. But Ottilia, her mistress, ordered her to feed the swine with whatever food was left. She, therefore, saved some of her own food, especially on Fridays, and brought it to the poor.
