Lake Achensee - Buchau beach

The Achensee - lake Achen - is the largest lake in Tyrol. It is 9,4 km long and at its widest point 1000 m wide and at its deepest part 133 m deep. The lake originated after the last Ice Age. The water in the lake is so pure that its quality is said to be that of drink water.
The beach at Buchau has a large sun-bathing area with a playground and a trampoline.
Snacks and drinks can be bought at the nearby tennis courts - also WC facilities are there.
The parking area has an automatic parking machine. Not far from the beach and close to the lake is a Beach Bar.
Here the water temperature is the warmest and therefore, a favourite place for families.
